Project enquiry

Tell me about your project

A few questions so I can understand the shape of the project before I put a quote together, and so the figure I give you reflects what you actually need rather than a guess.

It takes about five minutes. If you're not sure on something, say so or leave it blank, that's useful information too.

01

Your details

02

The document

Where will it be published?*

A rough number is fine. Last year's edition is a good guide if there is one.

Page size

Even if you want something completely different this time, it helps me see the volume of content. A link, or email me the PDF.

Do you have the working design files?

The editable files from the previous edition, usually InDesign, not the finished PDF. If they exist I may be able to work from them rather than rebuild from scratch.

03

Content and visual direction

If there are audited financials, how much goes in?

Typesetting a full set of audited statements, with the notes, is a much bigger job than a summary page, so this one really shapes the quote. Skip it if it doesn't apply.

Where's the written content up to?
Do you have brand guidelines?
How much of it is numbers?

Financials, service statistics, outcome data. This is usually the biggest single factor in how long an annual report takes.

Photography
What look are you after?
04

Optional extras

Anything here you'd like me to price?

Tick whatever looks useful and I'll include it as a separate line on the quote, so you can take it or leave it. No commitment either way.

05

Timing and sign-off

A board meeting, an AGM, a launch, or a publication date.

Roughly when I'd expect final copy and figures.

One or two people, or does it go to a board or committee? Knowing this up front lets me build the right number of review rounds into the quote.

Accessibility requirements

Some funders and government reporting require an accessible, screen-reader friendly PDF.

06

Budget and anything else

Do you have a budget in mind?

Entirely optional, and it isn't a number I'll simply quote back to you. Knowing your ceiling lets me shape the scope to fit it, rather than send you a quote that was never going to work.

I'll come back to you within two business days.
